To Taiwan
Taiwan is easily accessible from all over the world. Most international flights arrive at Taoyuan International Airport (approx. 40 km from Taipei).

To Taipei

Visa Information
Foreign nationals may obtain tourist visas if they hold foreign passports or travel documents valid for more than six months in the Republic of China for purposes of sightseeing, business, family visits, study or training, medical treatment, or other legitimate activities. Visa requirements included one completed application form, incoming and outgoing travel tickets, one photo, documents verifying the purpose of the visits, and other relevant documents. The Visitor Visa Application Form can be downloaded from the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The completed form should be submitted to an overseas mission of the Republic of China for visa issuance.

Countries eligible for Visa-exempt entry

Nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program, which permits a duration of stay up to 90 days:Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland,Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. , U.S.A, and Vatican City State.

Nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program, which permits a duration of stay up to 30 days:Australia, Canada, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Singapore.

Ports of entry to enjoy visa exemption: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport, Keelung Harbor, Taichung Airport, Taichung Harbor, Kaohsiung International Airport, Kaohsiung Harbor, Magong Airport, Taitung Airport, Hualien Airport, Hualien Harbor, Kinmen Airport, Shuitou Harbor and Fuao Harbor.

Although a visa is not required if you are a holder of a passport issued by a country in the list above, you still need to meet the following requirements:

  • posses an international passport with a minimum valid period of 6 months (3 months for Japanese passport)
  • possess a confirmed or open-dated return or onward travel ticket
  • no criminal record verified by the airport or seaport police of ROC (Taiwan)

India, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam passport holders who are permanent resident or hold valid visa of Canada, USA, Shengen States, UK, Japan, New Zealand or Australia can enter Taiwan for 30 days on visa exempt with the following requirements:

  • must apply for an “Authorization Certificate’ online here
  • check-in with the approved download Certificate
  • passport valid for more than six months
  • onward and return ticket
  • no criminal record

To Taipei
There are regular bus connections between the Airport and Taipei.

City Transport
Easily accessible bus routes weave through the whole of Taipei. The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System provides convenient and fast urban transport.

Shopping
Malls, department stores, and markets are nearby. There is no problem in getting all those daily supplies or even antiques around the neighboring area.
